Had no major wins of late, it's been quite an even time for luck too.
My only good run has been with the Betfred Grand Prix, where I currently sit at the top of the leaderboard with Jason, a long way to go yet though.
Another Virgin Festival coming up in April, qualified first attempt through a satellite for 1.65 euros, let's hope that's an omen of better things to come.
Looking forward to yet another year of good Poker.

Virgin Festival Nottingham 28th & 29th June 2008
The Virgin festival was held at the DTD (Dusk till Dawn) card room in Nottingham and what a great venue it was, massive card room with some 60 or more tables, so no squeezing in to get to your table.
Qualified to the main event, and was seated at table 22, along with The Sneak who came 2nd at the last fest, crafty sod was playing like a novice, string betting and all.
I was in seat 5, nicely positioned between the two halves of the table to my right all agressive and to my left reasonably passive. Game play each hand one of the agressive would raise every time, blinds were only 25 and 50, a few hands later each of the aggs just called the 200, looked at my cards to see KK, being suspicious I thought I would call too.
The flop came down JJ2 mixup, all checked round to me I bet, they all called?? next card was a K and all checked round to me, I dribbled a bet but got no takers, should have checked, but expected the re-raise on form from one of the aggs, shame.
Chip stack gently rising by the hour still on table 22, was dealt AKs, I raised 4x big blind and the agg teacher re-raised me 2500, I thought through the hand, this guy had been raising 9 hands out of 10, so I went for the re-raise and put him all in?????
He thought through the hand then folded showing QQ, phew, he was dying to know what I had but never showed.
Unfortunately for me the game became quite agressive all round, my raises were re-raised and I never did really see any more decent hands, with the blind structure increasing I was eventually out in 96th of 259, played for around 9 hours.
Day 2 Entered the Terminator event with bounty. Got off to a very bad start was down to 900 chips before the first hour, pushed with 33, called by QQ, flop came down 3Q* turn produced * and the river came 3 giving me quads and a double up.
Made a few more moves and doubled up a couple of times to bring chip stack reasonable, table broke up and found myself sitting with a few big stacks, short stack on table pushed with 9000 chips, player before me raised all in to isolate the pot with circa 20,000 chips, checked my cards to find KK, damn, surely at least of these two had an A, hopefully both so after a few minutes I called all in with 16,000 chips. My KK held up and I collected a nice pot.
Blinds were going up every 20 mins and I basically went card dead apart from the odd hand, but there was always a raiser each hand mainly all ins too.
Made the money but eventually pushed with rags and got busted out in 10th out of 146 starters.
Overall the weekend was fantastic, great venue well supported and well organised by Virgin and DTD.
Next Festival arranged for end of September in London and the Loose Cannon club, not sure about the venue as the last time I was there the lighting in the card room was crap, barely make out the chips colour difference. Unfortunately I'll misss the London Fest as I'm on holiday.

Virgin Poker Festival Nottingham.
Been harassing the tournament satellites since they began playing the 2 euro and 7 euro rebuys followed by the odd Sunday final buyin at 16 euros.
On my second Sunday attempt started slow but had a few lucky strikes with infamous Q10 suited to get to chip leader for latter part of the tournament. Pretty much then went card dead arriving into the 7 place seat finishers, massive allins by all and eventually ended up in third place to win my seat to the Nottingham Virgin Poker Festival over the weekend 28th/29th June 2008.
Perhaps I'll have better luck this time after failing to cash at the Newcastle Aspers Virgin Festival.
Good luck to all my Punters Lounge Colleagues who have not yet qualified.

Virgin Poker Festival 12th & 13th April - Aspers Casino Newcastle
What a great weekend, arrived in Newcastle on Friday in time to register for the evenings freezeout, managed to get through half the field before being punched out.
Main event on saturday started very well with me gleaning 7000 chips out of another player on the table, me thinks this is a good start.
Also had Virgin bounty Lucy on my table, dealt a pair of ducks and called to see flop, flop came 10, 2 , 4, I bet in 1000 into a 600 pot and was called by Bounty???, turn was a king so again I bet out 2000 and got called again??? river was a king, thinking my trip 2's were good I bet another 2000 for value, got called and was shown AJ.
My god this woman called my 1000 bet to the flop with just 2 over cards and then sucked the remaining cards out to beat me, I guess I got that wrong????? Having suffered the beat on the trip 2's a few hours later had a sinlar hand where I flopped trip 10's again bet strongly and was called, perhaps I should have pushed as the same person once again called the flop bet with basically nothing and drew the straight out on the river.
Now short stacked made the lunch break afetr which I returned practically card dead, waited my chance and then puhsed with half decent cards and finally knocked out.
Time in tournament 7 1/2 hours, oh well move on for another game.
Excellent experience and a wonderful opportunity to meet all the Pl's, a most enjoyable and well managed weekend by Virgin, will be back again in the future.

March Roundup
Well this month has been pretty poor no cash finshes and even the Virgin Festival last chance escaped my fingers, just can't play the right cards at the right time.
Unfortunately it goes like this, we all I feel have our ups and downs, well I'm on my downs.
Look forward to things changing, you'll know when they do.
I'll be in Newcastle in a couple of weeks time to suppport my so who is 9in the main event, I'll be found somewhere on a side table, we'll see how things go.
Sky WSOP final June, along with one final seat in the WPC also in April, so let's see what the month brings.

Sky WSOP Open semi final 12/03/08
After having a poor game in the Pokeplayer WPC on 888, dead cards and probably some poor play by me, I noticed that there was 3 minutes left to enter the Sky WSOP semi for £12, with a 140+ players I thought I'd give it a go, don't really gel with Sky far too many bad beats and weird card falls for me, but as I still had money in their account, I thought why not?
First cards seen were AA, here we go double up or out, with low blinds I limped in to a flop that produced 9 high and 3 suits. Early position bet in 300 so on my turn I pushed all in, was called and doubled up.
For next few hands could do no wrong catching loads of power cards and taking down most of the blinds and calls when they occurred, within the first half hour I had quadrupled up and then changed tables.
For the middle part of the tournament I just maintained my chips with a very slow increase, approaching the bubble I was coming under pressure from the high blinds and being card dead at the same time did not help.
Into last 17, with 13 seats going I was sitting 9th, picked up a couple of hands to increase my stack moving to 8th, blinds now 1 and 2000, lower stacks came under pressure before me allowing me to make the rack in 13th place, following hand pushed with 93 off to have a break.
Happy to collect a £110.00 seat in the final in June.
